Was playing around with my 100 macro, figured I take some photos of my Carl Zeiss 135, setup my tripod, A77, ring flash and remote, set the 135 on a white piece of paper and took a few shots. After loading them onto the computer I noticed the lack of depth of field at f16, tried a few more shots with even smaller aperture, no good, images were getting limited by diffraction at extreme small apertures, so I decided to do focus stacking to solve the problem. I took three shots at varying planes of focus, then in CS5 I opened the 3 images as layers and merged them. Results as below, wonderful technique and easy as pie.
